Playoffs begin for grades 4/5, 6/7. and 8/9 on April 24th. Championship day is May 3rd.  See schedule.

NEW THIS YEAR:  In the  Spring of 2008 girls in 4th grade will play in the regular volleyball season (no longer a 4th grade introductory clinic).  In addition EGAA will be offering volleyball clinics for participants (at no additional cost). Learn more about House League Volleyball below.   The season is expected to run from March 3rd to May 3rd.

VOLLEYBALL CLINICS  

EGAA offers the following Volleyball Clinics (at no additional cost) for the 2008 season:

4th & 5th Graders (2 Clinics):
Saturday, March 8th
Saturday, March 15th

6th through 12th Graders (1 Clinic)
Saturday, March 22nd

All Clinics will be held from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Southview Middle School Gyms (1, 2 & 3)

Coaches and players, come and improve your volleyball skills!  EGAA's referee coordinator and her staff will conduct the clinic.  This is a great opportunity for everyone to work on  serving, bumping, and setting techniques.  Coaches, this is an excellent opportunity to improve your coaching drills and strategies.

COACHES

EGAA relies on Volunteer coaches for our teams. If you are interested in helping, please indicate your interest in your child's individual PLAYER REGISTRATION form on-line and complete the VOLUNTEER COACHES section of the registration.

If you are not registering a player, you will need to complete a paper registration. Registration forms are available to print out here and also at the Edina Park & Rec Office in City Hall.

COACHES: New this year, the Edina Park and Recreation Department mandates background checks on all individuals 18 and older who serve as coach, referee or on the Board of Directors in any Edina association. EGAA has hired Pinnacle Investigations LLC to perform the background checks. All findings will be kept strictly confidential. There will be a link on the on-line registration. HOUSE-LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL

New in Spring of 2008 the 4th grade girls will be playing in the regular volleyball season. In addition  clinics will be offered to participants at no additional cost.

No experience is necessary and everyone plays every game.  Volunteer coaches teach the girls the rules, skills and strategy of volleyball.  Along with skills development, the emphasis of the EGAA Volleyball program is good sportsmanship, teamwork and fun.

The season will begin in March and end with Championship day in May.

Games are played twice a week for one hour, Monday and Thursday nights at 6:30, 7:30 or 8:30 pm.  All games are officiated by professional referees.

In addition this year there will be free instructional clinics for grades 4-5 on Sat, March 8 and 15, and for grades 6 - 12 on Sat. March 22nd for all participants. Sign up when you register.
