WELCOME TO HOUSE-LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL

EGAA Volleyball Registration coming in January 2009

Grades 4 - 12

Look for registration information cards in the mail

Season begins March 2nd and ends May 2nd, 2009.

No games March 9 or during Spring Break March 30- April 3rd

No experience is necessary and everyone plays every game. Volunteer coaches teach the girls the rules, skills and strategy of volleyball. Along with skills development, the emphasis of the EGAA Volleyball program is good sportsmanship, teamwork and fun. Open to girls in Grades 4-12.

EGAA also provides volleyball clinic sessions at the beginning of the season for all registered participants at no additional cost.

The season will begin in early March and end with Championship day in early May.

Games are played twice a week for one hour, Monday and Thursday nights at 6:30, 7:30 or 8:30 pm. All games are officiated by professional referees.

We would like to remind you that NO SODA OR GUM OR FOOD is allowed in the gyms or school hallways. The use of our school facilities is a privilege we must respect!  Players may bring water bottles to practices and games.

REGISTRATION

Registration will begin in January 2009.

VOLLEYBALL CLINICS

EGAA offers Volleyball Clinics (at no additional cost) for registered participants at the beginning of the season. *Sign up on your registration form!

The clinics last 1.5 hours and usually take place on Saturday.

Coaches and players, come and improve your volleyball skills! EGAA's referee coordinator and her staff will conduct the clinic. This is a great opportunity for everyone to work on serving, bumping, and setting techniques. Coaches, this is an excellent opportunity to improve your coaching drills and strategies.

EGAA relies on volunteer coaches for our teams! If you are interested in helping please indicate your interest on your child's individual PLAYER REGISTRATION FORM and complete the VOLUNTEER COACHES section of the player on-line registration. THANK YOU!

- If you are not registering a player, you will need to complete a paper registration. Registration forms are available to print out here and also at the Edina Park & Rec Office in City Hall.

Background check: The Edina Park and Recreation Department mandates background checks on all individuals 18 and older who serve as coach, referee or on the Board of Directors in any Edina association. EGAA has hired Pinnacle Investigations LLC to perform the background checks. All findings will be kept strictly confidential. There will be a link on the on-line registration.
