Fall 2008 EGAA Basketball schedules have been posted.
WELCOME TO BASKETBALL
EGAA House League Basketball is offered to girls in grades 2-9. The goals of our program are to help teach basketball skills, while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, fairness, and fun. This is a program for all skill levels. Last year, over 300 girls played on 32 teams. Games are scheduled early September through early November.
- Grade 2 – Saturdays at 9, 10, or 11 am (9/13-11/15)
- Grade 3 – Tuesday and Thursday at 6, 7, or 8 pm (9/16-11/13)
- Grade 4– Monday and Thursday at 6, 7 , or 8 pm (9/11-11/13)
- Grade 5 - Monday and Thursday at 6,7, or 8pm (9/8-11/6). Playoffs are on 11/10 and 11/13. Championship day is 11/15.
- Grades 6/7 – Monday and Thursday 6, 7, or 8 pm (9/11-11/6). Playoffs ar on 11/10 and 11/13. Championship day is 11/15.
- Grades 8/9 – Monday and Thursday 6, 7, or 8 pm (9/11-11/13).
Note that there are no Tuesday games for Grades 4 to 9 to complement Flag Football and there will not be games over MEA or when the gyms are needed for school functions.
2nd Grade fees are $45. 3rd-9th Grade fees are $80.
(A $15 late fee will be added on after the registration deadline.)

*TRAVELING BASKETBALL:
Girls trying out for traveling basketball, but are not placed on a traveling basketball team and wish to play house league should fill out an EGAA House Registration on-line form in advance. They should indicate that they ARE trying out for traveling basketball. If they do not make a traveling team, they will be guaranteed a spot on an EGAA house team. If they do make a traveling team, a refund check will be issued minus the online registration and t-shirt fees.

COACHES
EGAA relies on volunteer coaches for our teams! If you are interested in helping please indicate your interest on your child's individual PLAYER REGISTRATION FORM and complete the VOLUNTEER COACHES section of the player on-line registration. THANK YOU!
If you are not registering a player, you will need to complete a paper registration. Registration forms are available to print out here and also at the Edina Park & Rec Office in City Hall.
Background checks: The Edina Park and Recreation Department mandates background checks on all individuals 18 and older who serve as coach, referee or on the Board of Directors in any Edina association. EGAA has hired Pinnacle Investigations LLC to perform the background checks. All findings will be kept strictly confidential. There will be a link on the on-line registration.
